World Masters Orienteering Championships long distance

World Masters Orienteering Championships in Hungary continued with long distance in a rather hilly, karstic area with depressions of varying size. After two qualification races the best competed against each other in A finals while the rest were divided into B, C, D and even E finals.

Nine of the 24 winners managed to win their second gold in these competitions, amongst them short distance World Champion from 1997, Janne Salmi, Finland. The World Masters Orienteering Championships has two finals, sprint and long distance.

Next year the World Masters Orienteering Championships are held in Bad Harzburg, Germany.
