August is the month for World Championships. First, the world mountain bike orienteering elite will fight for the World Champion title in Ben Shemen, in the lowlands of Israel. The championships will be held 9-16 August.
An IOF Mountain Bike Orienteering Event Advisers’ clinic is organised 12 August at the MTBO WOC Event Centre.
After the mountain bike competitions, the orienteering world turns its eyes to Hungary. World Orienteering Championships and World Trail Orienteering Championships take place 16-23 August in Miskolc, Northern Hungary. Some changes have been made to the Trail Orienteering Championships programme since last year. This year, for the first time, both open and paralympic class have a two-day event. In addition, the results of the second day count as a team event, where a team is made up of two paralympic and two open class competitors.
You’ll find more information on the events and contact details of the organisers on the IOF homepage under Events.
