Ski Orienteering World Cup: Rvacheva victorious again

Tatiana Rvacheva, Russia tasted victory for the second time in two days when she won the replacement Middle distance race today by the impressive margin of 37 seconds. Her compatriot Andrei Lamov won the men’s race by 21 seconds.

Another member of the strong Russian team, Yuliya Tarasenko, took second place in the women’s race, and home athlete Sonja Mörsky was third. The Estonian Daisy Kudre had another good race today and finished sixth.

Norway had three athletes on the podium in the men’s race. Second and third places were taken by Lars Moholdt and Hans Jørgen Kvåle respectively, and Ove Sætra was sixth. The Swiss Gion Schnyder again skied well and, in contrast to yesterday, held his form to the end to finish fourth. World Champion Peter Arnesson, Sweden was up in fifth place today, but yesterday’s victor Staffan Tunis could manage only 12th position, 1.28 down on the winning time.

Tomorrow the final race of this round, the individual Sprint, will be held.
