Posted on | December 9, 2013 | Category: News

The Russians Tatyana Rvacheva and Andrei Lamov head the individual standings at the end of the first round of the World Cup. Russia is also the strongest team overall in the Nations competition.

Ryacheva won all three individual races in the round, and has set up a lead of 54 points over fellow-Russian Yuliya Tarasenko and the Swedish athlete Tove Alexandersson who hold joint second place.

Lamov’s lead is by 16 points, with Lars Hol Moholdt, Norway in second place. Third is another Norwegian, Hans Jørgen Kvåle, and the current World Champion in all individual distances, Peter Arnesson of Sweden, is fourth.

New this year is the Nations competition, based on points acquired in both individual and relay races. Russia leads, with Sweden second and Finland third.
