Already 3100 participants have signed up for the World Masters Orienteering Championships 2012 to be organised in Bad Harzburg, Germany, during 1-8 July. These entries have come from almost 40 different nationalities, ranging from Brazil to New Zealand. The organisers are happy with the current status of registrations and the Organising Committee even hopes to reach 4200 entries in total.

World Masters 2012, the biggest IOF Event of the year, will be competed on four different locations: Bad Harzburg, Goslar, Drei-Annen-Hohne and Clausthal-Zellerfeld. Features of the Sprint terrain include a detailed structure of narrow alleys, small parks and squares. Long distance events will be organised in conifeous forest with a large number of rocks and cliffs. Previous mining activities have contributed to the many technical features in this varied terrain.
