JWOC Middle A-Final: twenty-five nations represented

Posted on | July 25, 2014 | Category: News

Twenty nations in the women’s final; twenty-four in the men’s, twenty-five overall. Those are the statistics after the qualification races today. Only three nations have a full complement of women or men through: Denmark and Sweden in the women’s and Finland in the men’s.

It was tough technically in the Middle Distance races today, and several well-known names at junior level failed to qualify for the A-final. Most successful nation overall is Sweden with 11 qualifiers from their twelve entrants. Next in order are Finland with ten, and Denmark, Russia and Switzerland with nine.

Two nations have just one representative in the A-finals: Serbia and Slovakia each have one runner in the men’s race.
