Junior World MTB Orienteering Championships: Svetlana heading for four gold medals?

Posted on | June 24, 2009 | Category: News

Junior World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships continued today with middle distance in Furesø Marina, Farum. Svetlana Poverina took her second victory in a row, and has good chances to win four out of four golds if her good performances continue. Svetlana is the biggest favourite for tomorrow’s long distance race – she is the reigning long distance champion – and Russia will definitely have a very strong team in the relay, too.

Marek Pospisek (CZE) was fifth yesterday but drove to a clear victory today in junior men’s class. Czech Republic amazed with their team results: yesterday’s winner Frantisek Bogár was today only the third best Czech, but still finished sixth!

Long distance race takes place tomorrow in Gribskov, Hillerød. The competitions end with relay on Saturday.
