Tove Alexandersson, Sweden and Lars Moholdt, Norway are the new European champions in sprint. They both won the tough first distance in Obertilliach Austria.

On the night from Sunday to Monday a half meter snow fell in Obertilliach. The continuing snowfall made really difficult conditions, especially the smaller tracks in the forest were very challenging.

The World Cup leader Tove Alexandersson was the strongest among the ladies and was 23 seconds faster than Alena Trapeznikova from Russia. Mariya Kechkina, also Russia, was third.

– Today was a difficult race, but I am of course very happy with the first place. I look forward to the upcoming competitions, says Alexandersson to the organizers.

Lars Moholdt won the men’s stage. The Norwegian won ahead of Russian Andrey Lamov and the third place was shared by the Swiss Christian Spoerry and the Swede Ulrik Nordberg.

Official results will be published on the organizers website.
