The European Orienteering Championships 2012 continued today with Long distance in Orsa, Sweden. Yesterday’s winner and Long distance World Champion 2010, Olav Lundanes, Norway, again showed excellent performance leading the race throughout.

Simone Niggli is certainly back. In her first international championship since 2010 she showed that she’s as strong as ever by winning the European Championships middle distance with a margin of 1.25 before Minna Kauppi, Finland, on second place.

Olav Lundanes, Norway, didn’t give anyone else a chance on the European Orienteering Championships middle distance: he led the race from start to finish, and finally won the competition with 1.19 minutes’ marginal to defending European Champion Valentin Novikov, Russia.
