Alongside JWOC, the World Masters Championships for athletes aged 35 and over have also been staged at S-chanf, Switzerland this week. The champions are the winners of the combined results of two individual days of racing.

Bulgaria has once again found big talents in ski orienteering. Stanimir Belomazhev won the long distance in the European Youth championship, and Atonia Grigorova was seventh in the women’s JWOC class.

25/01/2005 || Time to register for the first World Cup round ||News||

The first round of this year’s World Cup in orienteering will take place from 29 April to 3 May 2005. The events will be based at Guildford, some 30 km to the south-west of London, Great Britain. The deadline for submitting the Team Registration Forms and the Accommodation Forms is 1 February.

The Swedish sports talent Erik Rost had four JWOC medals before this year’s JWOC in ski orienteering, but the gold was missing. After the sprint he has also become a ‘golden boy’.

Erik Rost, Sweden and Tatiana Kozlova, Russia were the first gold medal winners in the 2005 Junior World Ski Orienteering Championships being held in S-chanf, in the Engadin valley, Switzerland this week.

More than 160 young ski-orienteers from 20 nations have entered for this year’s Junior World Ski Orienteering Championships, to be staged from 24th to 28th January around the ski resort of S-chanf, in Switzerland’s Engadin valley close to the border with Italy. The event also comprises the European Youth Championships.
