Winner of the TempO competition, the ‘sprint’ form of TrailO, was Vetle Ruud Bråten, Norway competing in his first international TempO final. Norway also took the silver medal.

The final consisted of 30 tasks – 5 tasks at each of 6 stations – and the winner made a mistake on just 3 of these tasks, completing them all in a total of 192 seconds, to which was added 90 seconds of penalty time. The silver medallist, Martin Aarholt Waaler who is the son of last year’s TempO champion Lars Jacob Waaler, took just 4 seconds longer with the same number of mistakes.

The bronze medallist is from Slovakia: Ján Furucz, who was silver medallist in TempO two years ago. He had five mistakes today. Fourth-placed Marit Wiksell, Sweden was just 1 second away from a medal.

A warm and muggy day in southern Lithuania started with a qualification competition in the morning, and the Final for the best 36 from the morning started at 17.00. The last hour of competition took place in a thunderstorm with continuous quite heavy rain.

Tomorrow there is a model event, and competition continues on Thursday with the first day of the PreO competition.
