World Schools Orienteering Championships Middle race

Today the first race was held in this year’s World Schools Championships, being staged this week on the Algarve coast in Portugal.

 The two women’s and two men’s classes are sub-divided into those running for school teams and those selected as individuals. The winners were:

Schools classes

W1  Tilda Johansson SWE 21:38

W2  Zofia Galla POL 18:24

M1  Markus Larsson SWE 18:51

M2  Antonio Ferreira POR 17:44

 

Selected classes

W1  Yara Bores Escudero ESP 22:06

W2  Jasmina Gassner AUT 19:08

M1  Dane Blomqvist ENG & Harald Larsson SWE 20:20

M2  Uldis Upitis LAT 16:21

 

The W1 schools race was notable for the fact that the fastest three in the results all represented Eksjö Gymnasium in Sweden.
