The mountain bike orienteering world championships ended with long distance race in Israel today. When Adrian Jackson won the men’s race, he and Australia became the only double gold medallists of these competitions: eight gold medals were divided by seven countries in Israel. Ruslan Gritsan from Russia got his third medal of the week, and Matthieu Barthelemy brought France back on track by winning bronze today.

In the women’s class, the reigning long distance world champion Christine Schaffner (SUI) was impossible to beat even today. Silver medallist Sonja Zinkl, Austria, lost almost two minutes to the winner. Sprint world champion Hana Bajtosova from Slovakia finished third.
