The World Masters Ski Orienteering Championships were held alongside the Junior World and European Youth Championships in Estonia last week. All three events were moved from the Event Centre in Põlva 180 km north to the ski centre of Pannjärve because of lack of snow at the planned venue.

The World Masters event consisted of three races – two at Middle distance followed by one at Long. Points were awarded according to finishing position, and a competitor’s best points score from the first two races was added to the score from the third (Long) race to calculate the final positions. There were classes for age groups at 5-year intervals for Men/Women aged 35 up to 85.
