World Cup & Nordic Tour victories for Niggli and Kyburz

Simone Niggli and Matthias Kyburz made no mistake in the demanding terrain and the stress of the chasing start in the World Cup Final over Middle distance today. Simone Niggli became the overall World Cup winner by the massive margin of 304 points, and Kyburz was in front overall by 96 points after Olav Lundanes was disqualified on Friday.

Niggli won by more than 3 minutes from Helena Jansson, and Kyburz, showing that he is a top elite runner not only in Sprints,  finished 49 seconds in front of Thierry Gueorgiou, who had got ahead of Olav Lundanes by 15 seconds.

In the overall women’s World Cup standings, Minna Kauppi, Finland took second place and Tatyana Riabkina, Russia third. In the men’s, third spot went to Matthias Merz, Switzerland.
