Unofficial European Cup in TrailO: Norwegian victory in Italy

Posted on | June 27, 2013 | Category: News

The fifth and sixth events of this year’s Unofficial European Cup in Trail Orienteering were arranged at the Italian Championships in TrailO last weekend (22-23 June) in Folgaria, Italy.

Lars Jakob Waaler was the winner on Day 1. The course was in a park-like terrain south west of Folgaria with a mixture of open areas and some smaller forest parts.

The second day took place in the near vicinity of Folgaria village. The first part was once again in open areas and the final part in forest areas. Day 1 winner was not as successful on the second competition day; instead another Norwegian stepped up on the podium. Martin Jullum, who had not his best day at the first event, now showed his capacity and was the only one with all answers correct.

Erik Lundkvist from Sweden was the unofficial overall winner of the weekend.

After six events in the Unofficial European Cup 2013 Lars Jakob Waaler, Norway, is in the lead.
