An unofficial European Cup in Trail Orienteering (ECTO) is being organised for the first time this year. The first two competitions were held last weekend in Southern Norway. There was a broad representation of competitors from the Nordic Countries, and also from Latvia, Italy and Croatia.
The course planner, Martin Jullum, had made two very challenging courses. However, even though the courses were difficult, there were five competitors that scored all controls correct on Saturday. Winner of the first competition was Ola Jansson, Sweden, only 1 second ahead of Michael Johansson, Sweden. The whole result list can be found here.
On Sunday the course was even more difficult and that can be seen in the result list. Only three competitors succeeded in scoring all controls correct. The winner on Sunday was Lars Jakob Waaler, Norway. Runner up was William Rex, Sweden and Erik Lundkvist, Sweden finished third. The whole result list can be found here.
The results after two competitions in ECTO 2013 can be found here.
The next ECTO event will be in Finland in the middle of May and after that in Italy and Latvia in June. The last ETOC event will be arranged in Croatia in October.|| Print page ||
