During this years’ O-Ringen, competitions 7 and 8 of the Unofficial European Cup in Trail Orienteering were arranged. It was on the second and fourth day of O-Ringen that ECTO was arranged. It was in two very different terrains, but anyhow it was no problem for Martin Jullum, who was in splendid shape during the O-Ringen and won on both days. In addition he won three out of the four first days of O-Ringen, without making any mistakes on the courses.

In ECTO leg 7, there were eight competitors who scored all 20 controls correct, and in a tight fight at the timed controls Martin Jullum scored 6 seconds at the two timed controls, Martin Fredholm in second place 8 seconds and Vetle Ruud Bråten 9 seconds in third place. The full result list can be found here.

In ECTO leg 8, ten competitors scored all 20 controls correct and with the same three persons at the top. But this time it was even harder for Martin Jullum to win: he shared first place with Vetle Ruud Bråten as both scored 4 seconds at the two timed controls. Martin Fredholm had 8 seconds and was third. The full result list you can find here.

In the current standings, Martin Jullum is leading ahead of Martin Fredholm in second place. The standings you can find here.

The next two stages of ECTO will be in Denmark in September, and the final two stages of ECTO 2014 will take place in the Czech Republic in October.

Martin Jullum was also the overall winner of O-Ringen TrailO this year. His margin to Lennart Wahlgren in second place was two points.
