Tove has energy for top speed all year

Tove Alexandersson had an excellent start this year in the World Cup in foot orienteering. With skis on her feet she had an amazing start in the World Championships (WSOC) in Norway.

The Swede start didn’t take part in the Sprint Relay, but in the individual Sprint she was really on track with an incredible race. The margin to the second best was 48 seconds. “It was a good competition. I’m satisfied”, she smiles. The gap was 48 seconds to Audhild Bakken Rognstad from Norway in second place.

The race was almost perfectly done, but at the very end of the course she lost about five seconds at one place. She had to stop to be sure she was choosing the best route.

This winter WSOC is Tove’s one and only goal in ski orienteering. Because of spending three weeks at the World Cup start in Australia, she is just focusing on the championships in Norway, but already since November she has been on snow.

In mid-winter it was three weeks in Australia for the first round of the World Cup. Just after coming home she flew to Switzerland and took part in the later competitions of the European Championships. Even though she took medals, participation was mostly for getting prepared for WSOC.

Even though there have been weeks without skiing, she thinks her level is better than ever.
