The man who put Croatia on the TrailO map

Posted on | June 1, 2012 | Category: News

Ivo Tišljar from Croatia was already “irreversibly infected by the orienteering virus” at the age of 17 when he first got introduced to foot orienteering. Trail orienteering he found in 2000 at the Swedish O-Ringen and in 2004, after participating in the first World Trail Orienteering Championships (WTOC) in Västerås, Sweden, he decided to bring the discipline to his home country. Today the Croatian has two individual bronze medals from the latest World Trail Orienteering Championships in Norway and France and a third place from the Team competition in 2010. In the newest Athlete of the Month, Ivo relives the exciting moments from the 2010 WTOC when he got his first World Championships medal, and analyses the crucial points related to timed controls and course planning in TrailO. Read more about Ivo’s thoughts in the newest Athlete of the Month.
