Tatiana Vlasova is back!

Posted on | February 11, 2010 | Category: News

As Tatiana Vlasova concentrated on biathlon for the first part of this winter, she did not participate in the first Ski Orienteering World Cup rounds. But in the Middle distance in Romania she was back in her normal position as a winner.

For the woman with the most ski orienteering victories ever, the gold on the Middle distance was her 11th gold from European Championships.

-But it was really nice to win, especially as I haven’t been taking so much part in ski orienteering this winter until now, she says. Even if this was only her second race this year, she was well prepared and knows the game inside out.

Due to Tatiana’s lack of previous competition this year, there were a lot of girls starting after her. The best in the World Cup got the last and normally best start positions with the best chances to win. -I really pushed hard all the way, Tatiana says. She will now participate in ski orienteering for the rest of the winter. There’s a very good chance that there will be more to smile about.

Tatiana has ten gold medals from the World Championships and now eleven golds from Europan Championships. Liisa Anttila, Finland, and Marte Reenaas, Norway, took the other two medals.
