Second win for Arnesson

Peter Arnesson, Sweden recorded his second win in two races in the World Cup in Ski Orienteering at Idre, Sweden. He took victory in the long distance race (21.1 km) in a time of 1:19:40, an impressive lead of 2:30 over Russia’s Andrey Lamov.

Jarkko Urpalainen, Finland took third place, a further 35 seconds behind. Russia, despite being without Eduard Khrennikov, achieved great results with three runners in the top six.

Tatiana Kozlova, Russia won today’s women’s class over a 11.7 km course. She took a time of 55:33, 26 seconds quicker than the winner of the first race, Liisa Anttila from Finland. Third place went to another Finn, Hannele Valkonen, who was a further 20 seconds behind. There were three Finns in the top 6 in this class.

This round of the World Cup ends with the relay tomorrow.

It was another bright winter morning in Idre with temperatures between 7 and 18 degrees below zero, when Tatiana Kozlova won the second event in the World Cup.
