Safe race brought victory

Matthias Kyburz, yesterday’s sprint winner, says he wasn’t especially tired after the sprint race. His legs felt good today as well, and “the speed seems to be good enough”. He had to fight a bit harder in the middle of the race, but the last part went smoother again.

“Safe run was the key to my success today”, Matthias says. “I did not make any mistakes, except that I maybe was too much in the green areas.” During the race, he did not know the situation. “When I came to the spectator control, I heard that I was leading with 20 seconds. But there were still good guys starting after me, so I could not relax”, he says.

Matthias is looking forward to the fight in the Sprint relay tomorrow (Sunday). He will run the third leg in the Swiss team.
