In the final individual competition of the North American Orienteering Championships, Sprint, around the town of Arnprior, Damian Konotopetz (CAN) won the men’s race by just two seconds from Will Critchley (CAN).

Samanantha Saeger (USA) won the women’s race by 26 seconds from Tori Borish (USA). The arena was in Robert Simpson Park and the last nine controls were right in the park which provided great spectator entertainment.

The athletes had then very little time to recover before the Sprint Relay which had great head-to-head racing. On the last leg USA’s  Samantha Saeger  took over from Ross Smith in second place a minute down on Canada’s Kerstin Burnett. Samantha overtook Kerstin in the woodland section to bring USA home first.
