The IOF Council approved in its recent meeting a the change to the rules regarding the long distance event at the World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships. According to the new rules, valid from 1 January 2013, there will no longer be a qualification race for the long distance in the World Championships. Instead, the qualification rules will be based on the athletes’/federations’ previous performance.
The qualification rules will be worked on during this year, and the national federations will have a chance to comment on the draft rules. The qualification rules will be published early next year, and they will be used at all World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships from now on. This means that they will be used for the first time in Estonia in 2013.|| Print page ||
