Niggli: “I hope I will not see anybody”

Posted on | September 7, 2012 | Category: Arena

Simone Niggli was again at her very best today, and the Swiss star has set up quite big gap for the chasing start. It looks like being a new triumph for her.

“I hope I will not see anybody tomorrow”, she smiles. Niggli starts with a margin of 3.13 to Helena Jansson from Sweden.

Simone ran well today in the centre of Kajaani. “It was very tricky and I am not sure about all the route choices I made”, she says. Tomorrow’s race is in a terrain she knows very well; just after the World Championships she took part in the Swiss training camp in Vuokatti. The terrain in use tomorrow is adjacent to the terrain for the Middle final at the World Orienteering Championships next year.

– Have your feelings in the Nordic Tour and World Cup races here had any influence on your decision about going on or not?

“No, we will have to see. I will decide later”, she says.
