MTBO World Cup Final: second win for Malsroos

Posted on | October 1, 2016 | Category: News

Lauri Malsroos, Estonia took his second win in two days in the Middle Distance race in Lithuania today. Marika Hara, Finland won the women’s race, beating Emily Benham by more than 1½ minutes.

Buoyed up no doubt by yesterday’s win, Lauri Malsroos went out in determined fashion and won today by 49 seconds. Second was Baptiste Fuchs, France and third Pekka Niemi, Finland.

Emily Benham could not, on the other hand, retain her Long Distance form and had to settle for second place behind the very experienced Finnish rider Marika Hara. Third place here went to Maja Rothweiler, Switzerland.

The final race of the season is tomorrow: a Sprint in Lampėdžiai starting at 12 noon local time.
