Medals to seven nations in two finals

The World MTB Orienteering Championships in Czech Republic is now halfway through and with gold on both the sprint and the middle distance, Ksenia Chernykh from Russia is likely to become the queen of these championships.

In the men’s class, the honours have been shared between the freshman Torbjørn Gasbjerg from Denmark and the double world champion Mika Tervala from Finland.

The other medals were won by Slovakia, Czech Republic, France and Austria. The competitions continue today with the long distance qualification race. On Friday, the orienteers will compete in the long distance final and on Saturday, the relay will take place.
