Amendments to foot orienteering competition rules

At its recent meeting in Helsinki, the IOF Council decided to make some amendments to the Competition Rules for IOF Foot Orienteering Events.

Ski Orienteering World Cup: Russians ahead in Sprint and Relay standings

The Russians Natalya Tomilova and Kiril Veselov hold the lead in the Sprint World Cup standings after the mixed sprint relay, the last race in the Bulgaria round. Russia also holds a narrow lead in both the men’s and women’s Relay standings.

Ski Orienteering World Cup: Norwegians first and third in mixed sprint relay

The second round ended today with a mixed sprint relay for teams of two, skiing three legs each. The Norwegian team Marte Reenaas and Lars Moholdt was first to the finish with a lead of 1 minute and 20 seconds on a very successful day for Norway.

The IOF Foot Orienteering Commission has updated the Guidelines for World Masters Orienteering Championships and World Ranking Events. Both guidelines include significant changes to the previous versions.

Technical Introduction to Trail Orienteering for Experienced Foot Orienteers

The IOF Trail Orienteering Commission has published a new document to introduce the discipline to foot orienteers. The document has been prepared in order to assist anyone who wishes to try trail orienteering and who would like to gain some familiarity with the format before stepping out on a course.
