Tove Alexandersson won 13 Junior World Championship medals. She also has a World Championship gold in ski orienteering and a bronze in foot orienteering. Now the 19-year-old athlete is also a World Cup winner.

“I knew I could do it after the races last weekend”, she says. In the Czech Republic the very talented Swede got a third and a fourth place. Today she ran a very good race and thought the course was quite easy. The margin to Helena Jansson was 1.29 minutes.

Helena had a bout of influenza at the beginning of the week. “It felt better than I had expected”, she says.

The queen of orienteering, Simone Niggli, was also present at the race today. On August 28th she became the mother of twins. “It’s going well”, she says.

Tove Alexandersson won her first World Cup victory. Helena Jansson was second and Ida Marie Næss Bjørgul third.
