EYOC 2013 to be organised in Portugal

The European Working Group (EWG) has decided to appoint Portugal as the substitute organiser of the European Youth Orienteering Championships (EYOC) 2013. The event is now scheduled for 24-27 October and the event centre will be in a holiday centre in Foz do Arelho in Caldas da Rainha municipality.
The EWG based its decision on the results of evaluation visits to both short listed countries. “I must say that the competition was very tight, both bids were of very high quality, but there can only be one winner and this time it is Portugal. I hope that Poland will apply again next time – in other words for EYOC 2016,“ says Dusan Vystavel, EWG Chairman.
