06/08/2015 || Extraordinary General Assembly: Split World Championships proposal is carried ||News||

An Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) of the IOF was convened today to discuss a proposal to have a ‘forest’ World Orienteering Championships (WOC) and a ‘Sprint’ WOC in alternate years, as a development from the annual ‘all-in’ WOC programme that exists at present. The proposal was carried.

Denmark’s women and Switzerland’s men triumphed in the Relay held today at Darnaway Castle, north-east Scotland. Both wins were by convincing margins, with tighter finishes for the silver and bronze medal positions.

Annika Billstam, Sweden and Daniel Hubmann, Switzerland are the 2015 Middle Distance champions. Billstam retains the title she won last year, whilst for Hubmann this was the individual medal he had previously failed to get.
